Meet the Artists
If love means being repeatedly stabbed by tiny needles, the talented artists at Top Shelf Tattoo are your soul mates. We've worked hard to stitch together a family of tattoo artists with various styles and specialties. Read below to learn more about our artists. Jef has been drawing ever since he could ruin his parents' walls. Fortunately, when it came time to graduate from walls to skin, Jef had spent plenty of time honing his craft. Jef specializes in neotraditional tattoos and dark subject matter with bright, bold, and vibrant colors. With Jef, every tattoo is a custom piece of art designed to fit your body. His goal? To put out the best tattoo possible.
Josh Morgan, otherwise known as “Nacho” at the shop, began his apprenticeship 8 years ago at Prophecy Tattoo and House of Tattoos. He later went on to become a fully licensed tattoo artist at House of Tattoos and Some Funky Skills TAT2ing.
Josh loves traditional, American styles and black and grey wash work. He joined the Top Shelf Team in July of 2013 and has since found his niche and home here.
Brittany started her art career in college while studying Graphic Design. She discovered new artistic ability that she never knew she had. She quickly dove into all mediums and found a quick obsession with getting tattooed herself. She joined the Top Shelf family in 2013 after graduating and worked full time at the shop as well as a traveling painting instructor to get through her apprenticeship. She earned her license in 2016 but continues to grow and learn something every day. She enjoys taking the client's vision and creating something truly unique and magical for them. Brittany most enjoys tattooing plants and animals and working with intricate lines, but has dabbled in many different styles.
Phil started his career in the mid 90's working the bike rallies. He was fortunate to get his apprenticeship under Harry Schiech down in Port Orange, Florida at Nova One Tattoo, where he worked alongside some of the best artists in the country. Two years later, he moved to Orlando to work at Bad Dog Productions, where he continued his tattoo education. Phil had tattooed in Breckenridge CO, Laconia NH, and Sturgis ND before opening up his shop Florida. 12 - 13 years later he arrived back in NH working at Some Funky Skills (House of Tattoos) in Laconia. He's been in the Top Shelf Family for years and continues to work and grow as an artist. Phil is well versed in all styles of tattooing.
“I haven't done my best yet…only my best so far.”
Whatever your story is, a tattoo can tell it. Your tattoos are your own canvas of experiences. Your heart, worn on your skin. As artists, that’s something we take seriously by putting all of our creativity and passion into your tattoo. Put simply, we don’t put out tattoos we’re not proud of. When you leave Top Shelf Tattoo with new ink, you can be 100% sure that every tattoo is custom, and every tattoo receives the painstaking attention that sets us apart from the competition.
For many, tattoos are about expression and individuality. So why would we want to open a generic Tattoo Shop? Top Shelf Tattoo Gallery was created to be a place where art and expression can be celebrated and practiced in a gallery atmosphere that makes our clients feel comfortable and inspired. On top of that, we like to think it’s a cool place to hang out. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-in’s are always welcome. Call (603) 232-2231 to set up an appointment or get more info.

“I do not put tattoos on people; I bring tattoos out of people”
“Being an artist is dragging your innermost feelings out, giving a piece of yourself. No matter which art form, in which medium.” – Henry Rollins
Whether on skin or canvas, none of us would be quite the same without whatever form of creative expressions we choose to call our own. That’s why we’ve dedicated space in our gallery to sharing and exhibiting works from local artists from Manchester and the surrounding area. Could it also be the selfish drive to surround ourselves with even more creativity? Maybe. But can you blame us?
When we opened Top Shelf, we wanted it to be far more than just a tattoo “Parlor”. After all, “Parlor” sounds way too stuffy. Top Shelf Tattoo Gallery puts the spotlight on creativity, and our events focus that spotlight on the community we can’t wait to build. From poetry and music to exhibitions from local artists, the common thread is creativity – and the space we’re creating is its vehicle. So connect with us on Facebook or Twitter and check back often for the latest on what’s going on at the gallery.
